Participants will explore the unique needs of individuals facing terminal illness and learn best practices for delivering holistic support. Key topics include: Understanding hospice care - overview of the hospice philosophy, goals of care, and the role of hospice in the continuum of healthcare; Communication skills - techniques for effective communication with patients and families, including active listening and addressing difficult conversations about death and dying; Emotional and spiritual support - strategies for providing comfort and support, recognizing the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones; Pain and symptom management - introduction to common symptoms in hospice care and methods for effective pain relief and symptom management and Caring for families - insights into supporting family members during the end-of-life journey, including coping strategies and resources available to them.
