CU103-309 Basic Life Support Provider (BLS): This course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. This course is intended for both initial and renewal BLS training. This course covers the following topics: High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants; the AHA Chain of Survival; use of an AED; effective ventilations using a barrier device; importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR; relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants. In this Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students must successfully complete BLS skills practice and skills testing as well as a written exam in order to receive a completion ecard.
