Course Overview:

Mass Bay’s Home Health Aide (HHA) Training Program is designed to prepare Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) to provide high-quality care to clients in their homes. This bridge program builds on the foundational skills acquired in the CNA course, equipping students with the additional knowledge and competencies necessary to support clients with their daily living activities, promote their independence, and enhance their quality of life.

Course Objectives:

- Expand on the skills and knowledge obtained in the CNA course.

- Develop proficiency in advanced caregiving skills, including personal care, nutrition, and household management.

- Learn effective communication techniques for interacting with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.

- Understand safety protocols and emergency procedures to ensure a safe home environment.

- Gain knowledge of infection control practices and health monitoring in the home.

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the course, students will meet the state requirements for certification as a Home Health Aide in Massachusetts. Certification qualifies graduates to provide care in clients' homes, under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals.

Prerequisites:

- Completion of a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) course

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Basic proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)

- Physical ability to perform HHA duties

 

Career Opportunities

Graduates of the HHA Training Program can pursue employment with home health care agencies, hospice organizations, assistive living facilities, and private clients. This certification also provides a foundation for further education and advancement in the healthcare field.

Payment plan available: $110 deposit plus 3 payments of $130.00, paid weekly.
